Brand new droid no more…

Since most of the things I can do on the droid is more or less finished, I’ve done some first attempts at weathering!

As you know R2 should have a little dirt under his fingernails, even when he is all fixed up and looks nice!

So: what do you guys think? Too much or just perfect? =)

These are both sides of the same foot..

I went for the used and slightly dirty, but cleaned up by a farm boy who rather wanted to pick up some power converters with his friends kinda look

Other side of the same foot, will get a little more work done tomorrow!

Almost there…

After a long night of building and trying to fit things into very small and cramped spaces, I have made some headway into what is really starting to look promising!

The body is still filled with holes, as I need to clear coat two more doors tomorrow, but I’ve started mounting the bits that go into the body here and there.

I still need to wait until tomorrow, as my fiancée really doesn’t like the smell of the E-6000 glue, so I have to do it outside!

I’ve got my vents and coin returns standing by, and once I’ve got my doors back home, the body will be more or less complete!

I’ll leave that as a teaser for tomorrow or the weekend, but I’ll leave you with this image before I hope to bed..

(Also: please note that this is not taking in to account the blue bits and pieces such as dome panels. This is just the big, bulky plastic that we’re talking about here.)
